Santa Monica Music in the Park!
What: Every Sunday afternoon in Palisades Park, Santa Monica, the Sun Canyon Band plays music for anyone who wants to sit and listen, wander by or dance with their children, their dogs or their friends. Bring something to sit on, whatever you'd like to eat or drink, and enjoy a mellow afternoon in the park.
“Diane Hubka & The Sun Canyon Band” blends Diane’s honey-toned vocals and rhythm guitar, Rick Mayock’s expressive lead guitar work, melodic vocals and . . . a dynamic rhythm section," creating a tapestry of folk, Americana, and vintage rock & roll. Their music "'would sit perfectly in the mix with Joni Mitchell, John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot and even early Clapton solo releases . . ." (Luke Wolk, Radio Guitar One) Upbeat, casual fun.
When: The band plays from 3:00 to 6:30, so it doesn't matter when you come. Bring a sweater for when it cools down. Street parking. Free concert.

La Mirada Symphony – Stage to Screen: The Phantom of the Opera (1925 Silent Film) with Live Orchestra
What: Meet at 7pm at Courtyard Café at La Mirada Theatre for a beverage or snack before experiencing the power of live orchestral music.
Patio cafe is open 90 minutes before showtime, serving a variety of food items including sandwiches, small snacks, desserts and beverages. Outside food & beverages are not permitted.

Experience the La Brea Tar Pits with us one last time before they close for a 2-year renovation!
Join us for the official Excavator Tour at 2PM (requires paid admission), or come by after 3PM to enjoy free admission to the museum for LA County residents. We'll be touring the museum and park until about 5PM, but feel free to come and go anytime! Kids, friends, and family all welcome!

The start of a new year often feels like a good moment to slow down and reset.
ArtZen Immersion (Jan 22–25, LA) is an immersive art experience designed as a space to unplug, reflect, and reconnect — both with yourself and with others — through guided reflection, embodied awareness, and art-making, informed by neuroscience.
People come to sit in a calm, sensory environment, engage with art in a personal way (no experience needed), and leave feeling more grounded, clear, and creatively refreshed.
